於1957年建成的天星碼頭雖然只佔我四分之一的人生，但此碼頭對大部份香港人卻是集體回憶的一部份(特別是50-60年代出生的人)。碼頭的設計簡單，只是充滿英式味道的建築物罷了，碼頭上的鐘樓更是中環的地標之一。簡簡單單的報時音樂，在四十多年來毫無改變，依舊令人懷念。
一個填海計劃，將那個接近五十年的天星碼頭需要拆卸，重建為道路。至於新的碼頭，可用兩個詞語形容：「毫無特色」＋「樣衰」

There will be a rally in Downtown Toronto this coming Friday (Nov 17) to protest the demolition of the Star Ferry Pier. It will take place in front of the HK Economic and Trade Office starting from noon. The address is 174 St. George Street, it's right across the St. George Subway Station. Tell your friends and family in Toronto, feel free to forward this message or post it in your online profiles/blogs. The HK government needs to know that they are hurting the feelings of HK students, ex-HKer and HK lovers abroad. Hong Kong Demonstration on the same day 5:00pm to Sunday Bring your own message banner, water and sleeping bag(for over night staying) Please spread this message out. And encourage your friends from oversea to join protest from their city. Let HK people from all over the world to save our Star Ferry Pier |
